Thistle will announce a submission deadline and theme for each issue. While themes are open to interpretation, all submissions should somehow relate. Entries are accepted immediately after the themed call for submissions up until the submission deadline, after which the form will no longer be available. If you have any questions regarding the submission process including where or how to upload your work, please contact us.
All entries must be correct and complete at the time of submission. Once received, no edits may be made. Be sure that all links are accurate, names are spelled correctly, and documents are properly formatted. If desired, your name can be an alias or anonymous. Website and/or Instagram links provided via the submission form will be published in the magazine. Please only submit once per issue and allow one week from the published deadline for a decision from Thistle. All submitters will be notified via e-mail.
You may submit up to five images of your artwork. Please upload your images onto Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. Make sure the link to your work will not expire prior to the submission deadline and that you grant viewing access to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that WeTransfer links expire within seven days. If chosen, you will have the opportunity to submit hi-res images if you have not already done so. Failure to submit hi-res images may result in your work not being published.
If you are interested in collaborating with Thistle to create original artwork or have a feature written, please skip the submission form and contact us directly.
We will consider up to five entries in .doc or .docx format on Dropbox, or via Google Drive/Docs, OneDrive, etc. Make sure that the link to your work will not expire prior to the submission deadline and that you grant access to email@example.com. Please note that WeTransfer links expire within seven days. Use your name as the file name of the document and clearly indicate titles. Multiple entries should be on separate pages in one document. Prose pieces should be no longer than 2,000 words. If not otherwise specified, formatting may be altered to fit the magazine's design.
If you are interested in a writing feature, please skip the submission form and contact us directly.
